Slovenia donates new furniture to the UNSC President’s Office

In December 2025, during its Presidency of the UN Security Council and as an elected member for the 2024–2025 term, Slovenia donated new furniture for the office of the Security Council President at UN Headquarters. The furnishings, including Rex chairs by Niko Kralj and lamps by the Vehovar couple, replaced worn and damaged pieces. This gesture reflects Slovenia’s enduring commitment to multilateralism, dialogue, and timeless design, as well as its strong support for the Organization as a whole.

The redesign featured works by multiple generations of acclaimed Slovenian designers, combining functionality, cultural heritage, and sustainability. Through natural materials, ethical craftsmanship, and enduring forms, Slovenia presented a vision of diplomacy grounded in care for both people and the planet.

This contribution went beyond furniture and lighting; it created a space shaped by values: responsibility, trust, and respect for dialogue. Every element reflects the belief that design can serve diplomacy and the mission of peace. In doing so, it embodied Slovenia’s guiding motto: “Building trust, securing future.”
