Slovenia and Chad officially established diplomatic relations

Joint press release from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Chad to the United Nations concerning the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Chad:

Following the signature of the Joint Communiqué by H.E. Samuel Žbogar, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations and H.E. Mouctar Abakar, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Chad to the United Nations on 1st August 2025 in New York, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Republic of Chad have decided to establish Diplomatic Relations between the two countries with effect from the date of signature of the aforementioned Joint Communiqué.

The establishment of diplomatic relations will promote and strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the political, socio-economic and cultural fields, including science and innovation, for the mutual benefit of both peoples, and on the basis of equality, mutual respect for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and non-interference in internal affairs.
